free diving
Lungful underwater descent
Free diving is underwater diving without breathing apparatus—the diver descends on a single breath and surfaces before needing air.
Competitive free divers pursue extreme depths, but the term also covers recreational breath-hold diving for spearfishing or exploring reefs.
She can free dive to thirty meters.
Also spelled freediving.
