tooth enamel
Crown's white shell
Tooth enamel is the hard, translucent outer layer covering the crown of a tooth.
It's the hardest substance in the human body, protecting the softer inner layers from decay and damage.
Unlike bone, enamel contains no living cells and cannot regenerate once worn away: Years of grinding had eroded his tooth enamel.
