tomographic
Cross-sectional imaging method
Tomographic means relating to tomography—imaging that produces cross-sectional views of an object by combining data from multiple angles.
The technique appears in medical scanning (CT scans, PET scans) and industrial inspection: tomographic imaging revealed a tumor, tomographic reconstruction of the artifact's interior.
The prefix tomo- comes from a Greek word meaning slice or cut.
