SPECT
Gamma ray scan
SPECT is an acronym for single-photon emission computed tomography, a nuclear imaging technique used in medical diagnostics.
A radioactive tracer is injected into the body, and a gamma camera rotates around the patient to capture images showing how blood flows to tissues and organs.
SPECT scans are commonly used to evaluate heart function and detect brain abnormalities.
