ceratopsian

Frilled plant-eater

A ceratopsian is a plant-eating dinosaur of a group characterized by beaked faces, bony frills extending from the skull, and often horns.

Triceratops is the most famous example.

The name means "horned face," though not all ceratopsians had prominent horns.

These dinosaurs lived during the Cretaceous period and were among the last non-avian dinosaurs before the mass extinction.
