terrazzo
Polished chip surface
Terrazzo is a flooring material made by embedding chips of marble, granite, or glass in cement or resin, then grinding and polishing the surface smooth.
The result is a durable, speckled finish popular in commercial buildings, schools, and mid-century modern design: The old hospital had terrazzo floors throughout.
