kilim

Flat-woven carpet

A kilim is a flat-woven rug or tapestry traditionally made in Turkey, the Balkans, and Central Asia.

Unlike knotted carpets, kilims are produced by tightly interweaving warp and weft threads, creating a thin, reversible textile with geometric patterns: an antique Turkish kilim, kilim pillows scattered across the sofa.
