tangelo

Orchard-bred hybrid fruit

A tangelo is a citrus fruit—a hybrid of tangerine and grapefruit or pomelo.

Tangelos are typically sweeter and less acidic than grapefruit, with loose, easy-to-peel skin and a distinctive knob at the stem end.

The Minneola is the most common variety: I grabbed a tangelo from the fruit bowl.
