citron
Thick-skinned sour fruit
A citron is a large citrus fruit with thick, bumpy rind and relatively little pulp or juice.
Unlike lemons or oranges, citrons are valued mainly for their aromatic peel, which is candied for use in fruitcakes and other baked goods.
The word also refers to the tree that bears this fruit, or to a pale greenish-yellow color resembling the fruit's flesh.
