sourcebook

Primary material collection

A sourcebook is a collection of primary documents, texts, or reference materials compiled for study or research: a sourcebook of medieval history, a sourcebook for American literature.

In tabletop gaming, sourcebooks are supplementary rulebooks that expand a game's setting, characters, or mechanics beyond the core rules.
