silicates
Silicon-oxygen mineral group
Silicates are minerals or compounds containing silicon and oxygen atoms bonded together, often with metals.
They form the largest class of minerals, making up most of Earth's crust and mantle—including quartz, feldspar, and mica.
Glass, cement, and ceramics are silicate-based materials.
The soil analysis showed high silicate content.
