set screw

Headless threaded fastener

A set screw is a screw designed to secure one object within or against another, typically by pressing against a surface rather than passing through it.

Set screws often lack a traditional head, sitting flush with or below the surface: Tighten the set screw to lock the collar on the shaft.

Common in machinery to hold pulleys, gears, or knobs in place.
