setscrew

Threaded shaft securer

A setscrew is a screw designed to hold one object firmly against or within another, typically by pressing against a surface rather than passing through it.

Setscrews often lack a traditional head, instead having a slot or hexagonal socket recessed into the screw itself: Tighten the setscrew to secure the handle to the shaft.

They're common in machinery for fixing pulleys, gears, or collars to shafts.
