Clergy heading congregation
A rector is a member of the clergy in charge of a parish, especially in the Episcopal and Anglican churches.
In some countries, a rector heads a university or school.
The term suggests administrative authority over an institution—religious, educational, or otherwise: The rector delivered the Sunday sermon, She was appointed rector of the university.
