quoting
Stating someone's words
Quoting is citing someone else's words or a passage from a text.
You might be quoting Shakespeare, quoting a price, or quoting statistics to support an argument.
When quoting, you typically signal that the words aren't your own: She kept quoting her mother's advice.
In finance, quoting means stating a price: They're quoting fifteen hundred for the repair.
