crediting

Giving due recognition

Crediting is acknowledging someone as the source or contributor of something: The director kept crediting her editor for the film's success.

It also means adding money to an account: They're crediting the refund to your card.

To credit someone with something is to attribute it to them: History keeps crediting Edison with inventions he didn't create alone.
