interpreting
Making sense of
Interpreting is the act of explaining or making sense of something—a text, a dream, data, or someone's behavior: I'm not sure how to go about interpreting these results.
It also means translating spoken language in real time between people who don't share a language, distinguished from written translation: She works interpreting for the UN.
In performance, interpreting a role or piece of music means bringing your own understanding to it.
