prime minister
Top cabinet official
A prime minister is the head of government in a parliamentary system, typically the leader of the majority party or coalition in the legislature.
The prime minister answers to parliament rather than being directly elected by voters: The prime minister addressed the House of Commons.
In countries with both a president and prime minister, the president is usually ceremonial while the prime minister holds executive power.
Often abbreviated PM.
