powder flask
Muzzle-loader's supply holder
A powder flask is a container designed to hold gunpowder, used historically with muzzle-loading firearms.
Typically made of metal, horn, or leather, these flasks featured a narrow spout with a measuring device to dispense precise charges of powder into a gun barrel.
The hunter filled his powder flask before heading into the woods.
Though largely obsolete since the advent of self-contained cartridges, powder flasks remain collectible antiques and are still used by black powder enthusiasts.
