drum magazine
Round ammunition holder
A drum magazine is a firearm magazine shaped like a cylinder or drum rather than a rectangular box.
The circular design allows it to hold more ammunition than standard magazines—often 50 to 100 rounds.
Drum magazines are associated with machine guns and assault-style weapons: The shooter had equipped the rifle with a high-capacity drum magazine.
