spout

Kettle's pouring tube

A spout is a projecting tube or lip through which liquid pours—the spout of a teapot, a waterspout, a drinking fountain's spout.

To spout is to discharge liquid forcefully: Water spouted from the broken pipe.

Whales spout when they exhale through blowholes.

Figuratively, to spout is to talk at length, often tediously or pretentiously: He spouted statistics for twenty minutes.

Up the spout (British) means ruined or pregnant.
