American football
Touchdown-scoring team game
American football is a team sport played mainly in the United States, where two sides of eleven players advance an oval ball down a 100-yard field by running or passing, scoring by carrying it into the end zone or kicking it through goalposts.
The sport features heavy protective gear and frequent stops between plays.
Outside North America, the qualifier "American" distinguishes it from soccer and other codes called football.
