normative
Pertaining to standards
Normative describes what should be rather than what is.
A normative claim prescribes behavior or sets standards: Normative ethics asks how we ought to act.
Normative statements can't be verified by observation alone—they express values, not facts.
The opposite is descriptive or positive, which simply reports reality without judgment.
