Serious daily paper
A broadsheet is a large-format newspaper, typically associated with serious journalism and in-depth reporting, as opposed to tabloids.
The term comes from the standard size of the unfolded paper.
The Times remains a respected broadsheet.
By extension, broadsheet can describe the journalism style itself—substantive, less sensational—regardless of actual page dimensions.
