nervous tissue
Brain and nerves
Nervous tissue is one of the four basic tissue types in animals, consisting of neurons and supporting cells that transmit electrical signals throughout the body.
It forms the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
Unlike other tissues, nervous tissue specializes in rapid communication: The biopsy revealed healthy nervous tissue.
