Neodymium magnets are powerful permanent magnets made from an alloy of neodymium, iron, and boron.
They are the strongest type of commercially available magnet, capable of lifting many times their own weight.
Common in electronics, motors, headphones, and magnetic clasps, they're also sold as novelty items and desk toys: The neodymium magnets snapped together so forcefully they chipped.
