sintered

Powder became solid

Sintered describes a material that has been formed by heating powdered particles until they fuse together without fully melting.

The process, called sintering, creates solid objects from metal, ceramic, or plastic powders under heat and pressure: sintered bronze bearings, sintered iron gears.

The technique produces porous materials useful in filters and self-lubricating parts.
