monkshood
Toxic purple bloom
Monkshood is a tall flowering plant of the genus Aconitum, named for its hood-shaped purple or blue blossoms that resemble a monk's cowl.
All parts of the plant are highly poisonous, containing aconitine—historically used on arrow tips and in assassinations.
Also called aconite or wolfsbane.
