memetic
Spreading through imitation
Memetic means relating to memes—units of cultural information that spread from person to person.
The term derives from Richard Dawkins's concept of the meme as a cultural analog to the gene.
In academic contexts, memetic describes how ideas, behaviors, or styles propagate through imitation: memetic evolution, memetic transmission.
In casual usage, it often just means related to internet memes: The image has memetic potential.
