lychee
Bumpy tropical fruit
Lychee is a small tropical fruit with rough, reddish-pink skin that peels away to reveal translucent white flesh surrounding a large seed.
Native to southern China, lychees have a sweet, floral flavor often described as a cross between grape and rose.
They are eaten fresh, canned, or dried, and appear in desserts and cocktails.
Fresh lychees are only available for a few weeks each summer.
