lintels
Beams above doorways
Lintels is the plural of lintel, a horizontal beam spanning an opening such as a door or window.
The lintel bears the weight of the structure above, transferring it to the vertical supports on either side: The stone lintels over the windows had begun to crack.
Lintels may be wood, stone, steel, or concrete.
