Tikal

Guatemalan pyramid site

Tikal is an ancient Maya city in northern Guatemala, one of the largest and most powerful urban centers of the classical Maya civilization.

Its ruins—massive stone temples rising above the jungle canopy—are a major archaeological site and tourist destination.

The name is also attached to a popular German-style board game about exploring jungle temples.
