lab

Where experiments happen

A lab is a laboratory—a room or building equipped for scientific experiments, medical tests, or technical work: The blood samples were sent to the lab.

Lab also refers to a Labrador retriever, a popular breed of dog known for its friendly temperament and use as a guide or hunting dog: She adopted a black lab from the shelter. (Capitalized Lab may refer to the British Labour Party.)
