A workstation is a desk or area equipped for a particular task, especially one with a computer: Each employee has their own workstation.
In computing, workstation specifically means a powerful computer designed for technical or scientific applications—more capable than a standard desktop but less than a server.
The term also applies to specialized setups in manufacturing or laboratories.
