kneebar

Joint hyperextension hold

A kneebar is a grappling submission hold that hyperextends the opponent's knee joint.

The attacker traps the leg and applies pressure against the natural bend of the knee, similar to how an armbar attacks the elbow: He tapped out to a kneebar in the second round.

Common in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts, and submission wrestling.
