armbar

Elbow submission technique

An armbar is a grappling hold that hyperextends an opponent's elbow joint, forcing submission or risking injury.

The attacker traps the arm between their legs and applies pressure against the natural bend of the elbow: She locked in the armbar and he tapped out.

A fundamental technique in judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts.
