installation art
Site-specific creative works
Installation art is artwork designed to transform a space rather than hang on a wall or sit on a pedestal.
The viewer typically enters or moves through the work, experiencing it as an environment: The museum's east wing was converted into an immersive installation.
Installations often incorporate mixed media—sculpture, video, sound, light—and may be site-specific, created for a particular location and dismantled afterward.
