mixed media
Combined art materials
Mixed media describes artwork combining different materials or techniques—paint with collage, photography with drawing, fabric with sculpture.
The term acknowledges that the work doesn't fit a single traditional category: Her mixed media pieces incorporate found objects and acrylic paint.
In education and communication, mixed media refers to using multiple formats together: text, video, audio, images.
