hydrojets

Aquatic propulsion systems

Hydrojets are propulsion systems that move watercraft by expelling a powerful stream of water rather than using traditional propellers.

The intake draws water in, a pump pressurizes it, and a nozzle shoots it out the back: The boat's hydrojets made it highly maneuverable in shallow water.

Hydrojet also refers to high-pressure water cutting tools used in manufacturing and demolition.
