hooah
Soldier's enthusiastic response
Hooah is a US Army exclamation expressing enthusiasm, motivation, or agreement—roughly meaning "yes," "understood," or "let's go." Soldiers use it to acknowledge orders, show esprit de corps, or pump themselves up: Hooah, sergeant!
The term has spread to civilian contexts where military-style motivation is invoked, sometimes ironically.
Other branches have equivalents: oorah (Marines), hooyah (Navy).
