battle cry
Troops' charging call
A battle cry is a shout troops give when charging into combat—meant to intimidate enemies and steel one's own courage.
By extension, any rallying phrase or slogan for a cause: "No taxation without representation" became the colonists' battle cry.
The term emphasizes passionate commitment and collective purpose.
