oorah
Leatherneck battle shout
Oorah is a battle cry used by U.S.
Marines to express enthusiasm, approval, or solidarity.
It functions as a greeting, an affirmative response, or a general expression of esprit de corps: Oorah, Marine!
The exact origin is disputed, but the cry has been standard Marine vocabulary since at least the 1980s.
Sometimes spelled hoorah or ooh-rah.
