holographs
Entirely handwritten manuscripts
Holographs are documents written entirely in the author's own handwriting—wills, letters, manuscripts.
The term matters most in legal contexts, where a holograph will (or holographic will) may be valid without witnesses because the handwriting itself authenticates the document: The court accepted the holograph as her final testament.
Not to be confused with holograms, the three-dimensional images.
