folios

Large format sheets

Folios are large sheets of paper folded once to make two leaves (four pages), or books made from such sheets.

The term suggests imposing size—Shakespeare's plays were first collected in the First Folio of 1623.

In accounting and law, a folio is a page number or a fixed number of words used as a unit for measuring document length.
