Chilly air currents
Drafts are preliminary versions of written work, meant to be revised before reaching final form.
The term extends to other kinds of rough plans or sketches.
A draft is also a current of air moving through an enclosed space, or the act of drawing liquid from a container—hence draft beer, drawn directly from a keg.
In American English, the draft refers to compulsory military service, and to draft someone is to select them for duty or, in sports, for a team.
I'm still working on early drafts of the manuscript.
