fly sheet
Outer tent layer
A fly sheet is an outer layer of fabric stretched over a tent to provide additional protection from rain and wind, separate from the tent's main body.
In British usage, fly sheet also refers to a single printed page—a flyer or leaflet—distributed for advertising or propaganda purposes.
The fly sheet kept the rain off while we set up camp.
Someone left a political fly sheet on my windshield.
