flier
Pilot or pamphlet
A flier is someone or something that flies—a pilot, a flying creature, or a fast-moving vehicle.
The word also means a small printed advertisement distributed by hand: They handed out fliers for the concert.
To take a flier on something is to take a risk or make a speculative attempt.
Also spelled flyer, with no difference in meaning.
