endogamy
Marrying within community
Endogamy is the practice of marrying within a particular group—a tribe, caste, religion, or social class.
The term appears in anthropology and sociology to describe marriage customs that maintain group boundaries: The community practiced strict endogamy for generations.
The opposite is exogamy, marrying outside one's group.
