relatedness
State of connection
Relatedness is the state of being connected or associated.
In biology, it measures how closely organisms share common ancestry: The genetic relatedness between siblings is higher than between cousins.
More broadly, it describes any meaningful connection between things or people: The relatedness of these two theories became clear only after further research.
