emery paper
Coarse finishing material
Emery paper is abrasive paper coated with powite—a dark granular mineral used for grinding and polishing.
It works like sandpaper but with a different abrasive, suited for smoothing metal surfaces or removing rust: He used emery paper to clean the corrosion from the brass fittings.
